《许诺》是电影《白蛇传说》的主题曲。由《神话》作曲人崔浚荣以及《画心》作词人陈少琪联袂打造，香港音乐人雷颂德制作。主演李连杰在电影台词和主题曲的歌词方面提出了很多思路，主题曲中最高潮的一句，“为你而活是我的许诺”就是李连杰修改的。
录制主题曲时，黄圣依在内地，林峰在香港，先是黄圣依录了一遍，导演、监制都很认可了，然后林峰听着她唱再录制，确定之后又发给黄圣依，黄圣依对之前录的不满意，又在林峰演唱的基础上重新录了一遍。

男主与女主就这样开始了一段电影路程，两人初接触时互看两生厌，但慢慢都发现了对方的优点并产生了感情，然而因为身 份和工作性质，许正阳尽量将感情压抑，却免不了在刻意回避时患得患失，就在两人感觉无从择决时，一个异常危险的杀手悄悄靠近了他们。
王建国是本剧的大反派杀手，被雇佣来杀害这起杀人案的证人，再一次击杀活动中他的弟弟意外的被男主枪杀，王建国悲痛万分，与男主许正阳的矛盾更加深化，最后结局有点惨。
