中国最早放映的电影——1896年8月11日法国商人在上海徐园“又一村”茶楼内放映的“西洋影戏”。

中国第一部电影是戏曲片京剧《定军山》，内有《请缨》、《舞刀》等片断，1905年（清光绪三十一年），由北京丰泰照相馆摄制。无声片，长约半小时。
