《許諾》是電影《白蛇傳說》的主題曲。由《神話》作曲人崔浚榮以及《畫心》作詞人陳少琪聯袂打造，香港音樂人雷頌德製作。主演李連傑在電影台詞和主題曲的歌詞方面提出了很多思路，主題曲中最高潮的一句，「為你而活是我的許諾」就是李連傑修改的。

錄制主題曲時，黃聖依在內地，林峰在香港，先是黃聖依錄了一遍，導演、監制都很認可了，然後林峰聽著她唱再錄制，確定之後又發給黃聖依，黃聖依對之前錄的不滿意，又在林峰演唱的基礎上重新錄了一遍。

《中南海保鏢》劇情是槍法精妙的特警許正陽（李連傑 飾）被中央委派去香港保護Michelle香港地區一起殺人案的唯一目擊證人楊倩兒（鍾麗緹 飾）。楊倩兒是香港富商宋世昌的女朋友，富商為了保護女友人身安全僱傭了保鏢對其進形保護。
男主與女主就這樣開始了一段電影路程，兩人初接觸時互看兩生厭，但慢慢都發現了對方的優點並產生了感情，然而因為身 份和工作性質，許正陽盡量將感情壓抑，卻免不了在刻意迴避時患得患失，就在兩人感覺無從擇決時，一個異常危險的殺手悄悄靠近了他們。
王建國是本劇的大反派殺手，被僱傭來殺害這起殺人案的證人，再一次擊殺活動中他的弟弟意外的被男主槍殺，王建國悲痛萬分，與男主許正陽的矛盾更加深化，最後結局有點慘。
