這個歌兒是說，在50-60年代的美國，迪斯科還沒流行，還是音樂舞劇的時期
一對青年戀人在熱戀，男的是 Copa-Cabana 的調酒師，女的是舞女。一天晚上一個黑幫老大看上了這個女子，和那個男子大打出手，最終把男的打死了，女的則傷心的度過了餘生。
背景是，古巴有很多大毒梟，黑幫惡霸，在酒吧甚至大街上強搶民女的事情，經常發生。這首歌創作時候是70年代初，古巴還很亂的時候。這首歌兒反映了當時的亂世。
