外國的編輯們從好萊塢早期的電影中選出了大部分的台詞，十個最佳引言中有六個都來自30年代和40年代，最近的一條選自1994年湯姆-漢克斯(Tom Hanks)的《阿甘正傳》(Forrest Gump)，「生活就是一盒巧克力一樣。」
最早的是格利泰．嘉寶在30年代拍攝的《安娜．克里斯蒂》：「給我一杯威士忌，裡面兌一些姜味汽水。寶貝兒，請別太吝嗇了。」這是她在第一部有聲電影中的第一句話。
